Riya Krishnan

Founder & Executive Director

Riya is a 17-year old social entrepreneur from Connecticut. Riya founded Wavve after observing that many of her peers’ solutions to global issues were going unseen and undervalued due to lack of a support system to pursue them, and that this problem was magnified in undeserved communities. She is committed to broadening access to social impact to youth around the world across socioeconomic boundaries. She has been recognized as an Ann Taylor HerLead Fellow and  Ashoka Young Changemaker Finalist for her work. Outside of Wavve, Riya enjoys speaking at events, finding good podcasts, or (re)watching Game of Thrones

Caitlin Stanton

Communications Director

Caitlin is a senior at Cornell pursuing a degree in electrical and computer engineering, with minors in computer science and business. She got her start in tech and entrepreneurship through programs such as Girls Who Code and #BUILTBYGIRLS. She is the founding president of the Beta Chi chapter of Alpha Omega Epsilon engineering sorority, as well as a Vice President for Women in Computing at Cornell. She’s interned at Qualcomm, AOL/Oath, and Girls Who Code, and Microsoft. When she isn’t studying in Duffield, you can find her drinking bubble tea in Duffield, watching vines in Duffield, or napping in Duffield. 

Bhavana Ravala

Director of CONTENT

Bhavana is originally from Bloomington, Illinois, and is currently in her second year studying economics and international relations at The University of Alabama. Inspired by feminists like Malala Yousafzai, Bhavana advocates for girls’ rights both in the US and on an international level. Most recently, she co-created Plan International’s global campaign Girls Get Equal and helped launch the campaign at the 2018 Global Girls’ Summit in Brussels. She plans to attend law school and continue working on girls’ issues as an international lawyer, aiming to use law and policy to decrease inequality around the world. In her very little free time, Bhavana loves watching Parks & Rec, writing poetry, and baking anything with chocolate. 

Ethan Somers

Director of Events

Ethan is a 19-year old political organizer from Colorado. He is currently studying history and philosophy at George Washington University in DC. Ethan is passionate about ending gun violence, and works with Giffords as a Courage Fellow, and has helped to build several youth focused groups to address this violence in DC. Empowering and emboldening young voices on the national stage is his driving goal. When not organizing fellow teens he enjoys a good philosophy book, or a hike in the wilderness of Colorado

Lorraine Zhang

Director of Partnerships

Lorraine is a senior at Carnegie Mellon University studying Information Systems, Business, and Human-Computer Interaction. She is currently a Technical Program Manager intern at Facebook and was at Google X as a Product Manager intern last summer. She is passionate about promoting inclusion, accessibility, and LGBT representation in tech. In her free time, she enjoys aerial silks, trapeze, and ballroom dancing.

Nicole Li

Director of Administration

Nicole is an 18 y/o student-activist from Memphis, TN, attending Yale University in New Haven, CT. In recent years, she has worked with organizations such as March For Our Lives and Planned Parenthood to organize rallies against gun violence, canvass for pro-choice state politicians, and direct a local campaign to increase youth voter turnout. When not spilling political tea, she can be found binge watching Criminal Minds, browsing news podcasts, or swimming in someone else’s private pool. , and ballroom dancing
